This Privacy Policy explains how HGW Hydraulics collects, uses, discloses, retains, and protects personal information when you visit our website, create an account, request a quote, communicate with us, receive marketing, place an order, request support, or otherwise interact with us.

This policy applies to customers and prospective customers, including individual purchasers, distributors, original equipment manufacturers, industrial users, and business contacts. It covers information collected online and related information collected through email, phone, text messaging, quotations, invoices, customer service, and other business interactions.

  • Marketing preferences: email or text subscriptions, consent records, opt-out requests, and communication preferences.

We do not intentionally request sensitive personal information through general website forms. Please do not submit government identifiers, account passwords, complete payment-card numbers, medical information, or export-controlled technical data unless we specifically request it through an approved secure method.

Sources of Personal Information

We collect information directly from you; automatically from your browser or device; from our ecommerce, payment, shipping, analytics, advertising, fraud-prevention, email, and text-messaging service providers; from a business or representative acting for you; and, where permitted, from public sources and business directories.

How We Use Personal Information

We may use personal information to:

  • Provide products, quotations, accounts, checkout, payment processing, order fulfillment, delivery, returns, warranties, and customer support.
  • Respond to questions, review drawings and specifications, identify products, and maintain customer and supplier relationships.
  • Operate, personalize, secure, troubleshoot, and improve our website, catalog, communications, and services.
  • Measure website and advertising performance, understand product interest, conduct analytics, and market HGW products and services.
  • Send transactional email and text messages and, with any consent required by law, marketing email or text messages.
  • Detect and prevent fraud, abuse, security incidents, unlawful activity, and violations of our terms.
  • Maintain accounting, tax, warranty, compliance, safety, dispute, and other legitimate business records.
  • Comply with law, legal process, sanctions, export controls, customs requirements, and government requests.

How We Disclose Personal Information

We may disclose personal information to the following categories of recipients for the purposes described above:

  • Ecommerce hosting, cloud, information-technology, security, fraud-prevention, and customer-support providers.
  • Payment processors, banks, accounting providers, tax providers, and credit or collection services.
  • Carriers, freight forwarders, customs brokers, warehouses, manufacturers, suppliers, and other parties needed to quote, make, document, or deliver an order.
  • Email, text-messaging, analytics, advertising, and marketing service providers.
  • Professional advisers, auditors, insurers, regulators, law enforcement, courts, and government authorities.
  • A buyer, investor, lender, or successor in connection with a merger, financing, reorganization, sale of assets, or similar business transaction.

We do not sell personal information for money. We may allow analytics and advertising partners, including services implemented through Google Tag Manager and Google advertising tools, to collect identifiers and internet or device activity for measurement, attribution, audience, or advertising purposes. Under some state privacy laws, that activity may be considered “selling,” “sharing,” or targeted advertising even when no money is exchanged.

Cookies and Similar Technologies

We and our service providers may use cookies, pixels, tags, local storage, log files, and similar technologies. These technologies may be used to:

  • Keep the website, cart, checkout, security, and account functions working.
  • Remember preferences and improve functionality.
  • Understand traffic, searches, page use, and website performance.
  • Measure advertising, attribute conversions, and deliver or evaluate marketing.

You can control many cookies through browser settings. Blocking strictly necessary cookies may prevent cart, checkout, login, or security features from working properly. Our website does not currently respond to browser “Do Not Track” signals because there is no uniform industry standard for those signals.

Email and Text Messaging

Transactional communications may be sent to complete an order, provide delivery or account information, respond to a request, or administer a business relationship. Where required, marketing messages are sent with consent. You may unsubscribe from marketing emails using the link in the message and may opt out of marketing text messages using the instructions in the message or by contacting us.

Mobile opt-in information and consent are not sold or shared with third parties for their own marketing or promotional purposes. We may disclose that information to providers that help us deliver messages, maintain consent records, prevent fraud, or comply with law.

Your Privacy Choices

Depending on where you live and the law that applies, you may have the right to request access to personal information, obtain information about how it is used or disclosed, correct inaccurate information, request deletion, obtain a portable copy, opt out of certain sales, sharing, targeted advertising, email, or text messaging, limit certain uses of sensitive personal information, or appeal a decision concerning a request.

To submit a privacy request or an opt-out request, email support@hgwhydraulics.com with the subject “Privacy Request,” call (718) 799-2832, or use our Contact Us form. Please describe the request and identify the account, email address, phone number, or transaction involved. We may need to verify your identity and authority before completing a request. An authorized agent may submit a request where permitted by law, subject to appropriate verification.

We will not unlawfully discriminate against you for exercising an applicable privacy right. Certain information may be retained or excluded from a request when necessary to complete a transaction, provide a requested product, protect security, maintain warranty, tax, accounting, or legal records, resolve disputes, exercise legal rights, or comply with law.

California Privacy Notice

California residents may have rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended (CCPA), when HGW Hydraulics is subject to that law. The categories of personal information collected during the preceding 12 months, their sources, purposes, and categories of recipients are described in the sections above.

If applicable, California residents may request to know, access, correct, or delete covered personal information; request information about covered disclosures; opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information; limit certain uses of sensitive personal information; and exercise rights without discriminatory treatment. HGW Hydraulics does not knowingly sell or share the personal information of consumers under 16 years of age.

You may opt out of covered advertising-related selling or sharing by submitting a “Do Not Sell or Share” request through the contact methods in the Your Privacy Choices section. A request applies to the browser, device, account, or identifiers we can reasonably associate with the request. We do not use or disclose sensitive personal information for purposes that require a right to limit under the CCPA.

Retention

We retain personal information for no longer than reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it was collected and for legitimate business and legal needs. Retention depends on the type of information, the relationship, warranty and product life-cycle considerations, accounting and tax requirements, contractual obligations, security needs, applicable limitation periods, disputes, and legal holds. For example, order, invoice, customs, and payment records may be retained for legally required accounting and tax periods; account and marketing information may be retained while the relationship remains active and for a reasonable period afterward; and technical or support records may be retained as needed for product identification, warranty, safety, and dispute resolution.

Data Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information. No internet transmission, website, or storage system can be guaranteed completely secure. You are responsible for protecting account credentials and notifying us promptly of suspected unauthorized account activity.

International Users and Transfers

HGW Hydraulics is based in the United States. If you interact with us from another country, information may be processed in the United States and by service providers in other countries where privacy laws may differ. When required, we use appropriate contractual or other safeguards for cross-border transfers.

Children's Privacy

Our website is intended for purchasers and business users and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from a child under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us so we can review and, where appropriate, delete it.

Third-Party Links and Services

Our website may link to or integrate third-party websites and services. Their privacy and security practices are governed by their own policies, and HGW Hydraulics is not responsible for services we do not control.

Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes in law, technology, services, or business practices. The effective date above identifies the current version. Material changes apply prospectively when posted or otherwise communicated, except where law requires a different procedure.
