Where Leaks Often Start
Hoses can rupture or burst, but many recurring leaks begin at fitting threads, O-ring joints, or improperly assembled hose, tube, and fitting connections. The wrong fitting, over-tightening, under-tightening, damaged threads, or an O-ring that does not match the specification can create a leak path.
Standard Parts Are Not Always Enough
Standard fittings work well in standard applications. Field equipment is often less tidy. A port may be difficult to reach, the machine may combine multiple thread standards, the routing may need a special angle, or the material may need more corrosion resistance than the normal part provides.

The same principle appears outside normal hydraulic circuits. In high-pressure gas systems, long underground runs may not allow mechanical fittings between end points. Seamless coiled tubing and special compression tube fittings can reduce the number of joints and help control leakage.

Before replacing a leaking standard arrangement with a special, confirm the fluid, pressure, temperature, tube or hose size, thread family, sealing surface, O-ring material, corrosion exposure, and available space. A custom fitting should simplify the connection and reduce leak risk, not hide an identification mistake.
